SHOWMAN'S SHOW
is the only outdoor show of its kind in the UK, if not the world. The first Showman's Show was held in 1984 at the Newark Showground, with only 80 or so exhibitors. Until 1989 the show was held every two years but due to demand, from exhibitors and show visitors alike, Lance Publications made the decision to hold the event annually. Initially it moved around the country but eventually settled at the Newbury Showground, which has been its home for the last 11 years.Today the show attracts more than 4,000 visitors over two days and boasts in excess of 400 exhibitors, who show the most sophisticated structures, equipment and entertainment demanded by the event industry at large.

KINGSBRIDGE SHOW
Kingsbridge Show continues to grow whilst trying to maintain that local feel, keeping it's traditional agricultural and horticultural roots. It has been running for 123 years - this being the 52nd year it has been held at Borough Farm, Kingsbridge. There is something for everyone – and so much to see and do – it’s a great family day out whether you farm, ride or just want to see “a little piece of rural England” and enjoy the atmosphere. The main ring attraction for 2005 is the racing camels. The cattle and sheep classes are very well supported and horses feature strongly in the Kingsbridge Show – their events running right through the day. The 6-Bar Show Jumping knockout Competition, run in the main ring last year, is a new open class this year. Driving is also making a welcome return. Static attractions include a Craft Tent, South Hams Food & Drink, the Country Scene tent, the Young Farmers section, a Woodland Tent, Horticultural, Homecraft, Floral and children’s classes.

DEVON & CORNWALL CHRISTMAS EQUINE FAIR
Another successful year for the Devon & Cornwall Christmas Equine Fair as visitors flocked in to shop and look at the stunning demonstrations.  Olympic rider William Fox-Pitt drew the crowds with his Eventing displays, whilst Lucinda McAlpine was a real hit with the audience as she explained Intuitive Riding. With Side Saddle, Carriage Driving, BHS Trec and a stallion parade, the Devon & Cornwall Christmas Equine Fair had something for everyone. The Devon Farriers, who were being auctioned off to raise money for Cancer Research UK, were met with real appreciation from the crowd and raised £750, in addition to selling over 350 calendars during the weekend. There is still the opportunity to buy The Cream of Devon Farriers calendar by calling 01626 872732. See Mr February who had a record bid in the auction of £220! MAY SHEEP FAIR & SALE

The 2005 Annual Dorset Horn and Poll Dorset Breeders' May Sale proved to be a great success, with a trade well above last year's. The first day's show event saw a pair of Poll ram lambs, Huish Fred and Future, from D W Rossiter, Devon, win the overall championship with a Horn ram lamb from Fooks Bros, Dorset, taking the reserve spot. Earlier on in the day the femalechampionship was taken by a ewe lamb, Charlton Freesia, bred by Mrs. P. Laws, Bristol. The reserve went to another ewe lamb, Blackhill Finesse, bred by Mr Jim Dufosee, Wiltshire. The following day's sale quickly got going with the reserve female champion, Blackhill Finesse, selling for 690 guineas to Griffiths & Daviesfor their Dolclettwr Flock. This was soon surpassed by a ewe lamb and a shearling ewe from Fooks Bros., Bridport, reaching 700 gns and 1,000 gns respectively. Both were purchased by the Olive Tree Flock in Northern Ireland. Not to be outdone by the females, the rams soon set a stunning trade with Huish Fergus from D W Rossiter selling to 2,000 gns. This ram lamb was purchased by Mr G Baker for Mr Henry Tickler's Mellor Flock. There were another six lots topping the 1,000 gns mark. The highest price Horn ram was the reserve champion from Fooks Bros. reaching 950 gns., selling to Mr Jim Dufosee.

Since foot & Mouth outbreak this event is now held at: Exeter Livestock Market

SHERBORNE CASTLE COUNTRY & RARE BREEDS SHOW
The 2005 Fair was the 10th Anniversary of its inception. In 1996 a small group of volunteers got together to organise a fun day out and Gundog Working Test, to raise funds for The Lady Hoare Trust for Physically Disabled Children.
Ten years on, and still organised by volunteers, The Sherborne Castle Country Fair has become a premier event on the show calendar attracting 18,000 visitors each year - the Gundog Test is now an International Retriever Event, highly acclaimed and this year will be attended by 13 European and Scandinavian countries. The Committee and its many volunteer supporters are very proud to be able to report that they have donated £420,000 to children's charities over the past 9 years.

RNAS YEOVILTON AIRSHOW
Naval Aviation can truly be described as  ‘Flying with a Difference’, as we aim to demonstrate during Air Day 2006.  Since its origins in 1914 with the Royal Naval Air Service, later to be renamed the Fleet Air Arm, Naval Aviation has rightly been the province of the Royal Navy. Over the intervening period of 92 years, this winning combination of naval aviators flying from RN ships has revolutionised maritime and aerial warfare in every theatre of operation (be it sand, sea, jungle or snow), through their unique ability to deliver effective and precise military force from the sea.  Yeovilton based Commando Sea King and Lynx helicopters and Maritime Lynx Squadrons will feature in the extensive flying and static display along with visiting military and civilian aircraft, historic and modern from around the world.

BRIDGEWATER GUY FAWKES CARNIVAL
The Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival is now a huge event which has almost lost touch with its origins. Over a hundred young people, representatives from numerous carnival clubs, form up in two facing lines. Each has a six-foot pole, attached to the end of which is a squib or roman candle. A row of fire is lit between the two lines, and on a loud blast from the leader's whistle, the two lines of pole-bearers light the touchpapers of their fireworks, which they then raise over their heads. There follows a stupendous, climactic firework display which can be seen for miles.Bridgwater Carnival is held annually in early November. The Carnival procession parades through the streets of Bridgwater, Somerset, England. It is as far as we know the largest illuminated Carnival in the world,Our illuminated procession regularly attracts crowds in excess of 150,000.
